Howdy!
I'm Avery! A proud Texan, bread connoisseur, lover of flowers, but most importantly, a daughter of Jesus Christ. I have experienced His steadfast love firsthand throughout my life, and I want to share that with you! I hope you find encouragement through these posts and are drawn closer to Him.
The Good News
In the beginning God created the world and everything in it. He took special attention in creating male and female... He made us in His image. We were set apart from all other creation, and were given dominion over all other creation. Adam and Eve were able to walk with God, talk to Him and live in communion with Him. But, as we know, they chose to disobey Him and eat from the one tree He told them not to. The devil, as a serpent, tempted them to eat the fruit and they did. This brought sin and brokenness into the world, and all have fallen short of the glory of God.
BUT! That is not the ending. God had a plan. Thousands of years later, He sent Jesus - His only begotten Son, who was born unto a virgin. He lived a perfect 33 years on earth. He not only came as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, but also as an example of how we should live our loves. Three years after His ministry began, He was betrayed by one of His disciples for 30 pieces of silver. What came after was one of the most brutal executions, but Jesus knew the momentary affliction was worth the eternal heavenly glory. He endured this knowing it would be the only way for our sings to be forgiven and for us to spend eternity with Him. He died on the cross, then was buried in a tomb where His body laid for 3 days. During those days, He defeated sin and death and on the morning of the third day, He rose from the dead reigning victorious. He took on the sins of the world, so we could be made righteous. Through His death, burial and resurrection, we have the opportunity to be saved by grace.
Romans 10:9 says, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
If you have not yet confessed your need for forgiveness and salvation, now is the time. He stands at the door and knocks, will you answer?
